If you’re looking for some fresh air, adventure and fun outdoor activities for kids in Dublin? The National Botanic Gardens is a wonder filled place to go for all the family.
The Botanic Gardens is a stunning green oasis of calm situated in the leafy suburb of Glasnevin, not far from Dublin city centre
Nearly 50 acres in size it’s home to over 17,000 different plants. Soak up some nature by the rose and rock gardens, the double herbaceous borders, or the pond and river walks or the organic fruit and vegetable garden.
Not to mention the famous Victorian glasshouses: the Curvilinear Range, designed by Richard Turner, and the Great Palm House, Ireland’s only tropical rainforest.
There’s a lot to explore at the Botanic Gardens and it’s a lovely way to get to get out and about in the fresh air for the whole family.
Throughout the year there is a wonderful programme of events and activities (for adults and children) and can include anything from children’s art workshops, gardening workshops, walks, tours and exhibitions. If you’re looking to try something new this is the place!
