Tradfest 2016 guarantees a weekend of toe-tapping tunes for all the family to enjoy at the Family Concert Series in Dublin City Hall
As part of the family programme enjoy two days of fantastic song and dance featuring students of trad from throughout Ireland that is bound to have you smiling and clapping along. Taking place at Dublin City Hall
This year TradFest has a very special performance by The Chinese Spring Festival Performers who are travelling to Ireland to celebrate the Chinese New Year; immerse themselves in Irish Culture and introduce Irish audiences to Chinese culture. This children’s group will be playing Chinese traditional instruments including the erhu, dulcimer and guzheng while the dancers will perform traditional dances such as the Mongolia dance, the Dai dance and the Xinjiang dance.
Tradfest are also welcoming two new young musical acts to our Family Concerts Series in Dublin City Hall; The Maguire Band, who hail from Wicklow, are a multi-instrumentalists family featuring Seán Maguire (bodhrán) Aoife Maguire (concertina, uilleann pipes) Emma Maguire (fiddle, flute, concertina, whistle) and Philip Maguire (guitar). While The Cavan Bucks are a newly formed trad trio from Cavan comprising of Zoran Donohoe on concertina, Barry Conaty on flute and Ellen Grant on Button accordion.
